Summary
The Indian Super League (IND1) was founded in 2013 and is now the top league in the India's football league system. At the end of the 2022-2023 IND1 season, the IND1 teams listed below qualify for the following non-league play:
- 2024 AFC Champions League - Group Stage:
- 1st place 2022-2023 IND1 team
- 2024 AFC Cup - Playoff Round:
- 2nd place 2022-2023 IND1 team
The winner of the 2023 Durand Cup, potentially an IND1 team, also receives a berth in the Group Stage of the 2024 AFC Cup.
Relegation from IND1 to IND2 will be first implemented after the 2022-2023 season.

Season Format
Each IND1 team plays Home-Away matches with the other 10 IND1A teams for a total of 20 league matches per team. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) head-to-head points, (2) head-to-head goal difference, (3) head-to-head goals scored, (4) goal difference, (5) total goals scored, (6) Fairplay ranking, then (7) a drawing.
Playoffs
At the end of the 2022-2023 IND1 Regular season, the teams ranked 3rd-6th enter into the Home-Away highest aggregate score wins Championship Quarterfinals (3rd vs. 6th, 4th vs. 5th). The Quarterfinals winners play Home-Away highest aggregate score wins Semifinals. The Semfinals winners then play in a one match Championship Final.
Relegation
At the end of the 2022-2023 IND1 the 12th place IND1 team will be relegated and the 1st place IND2 team will be promoted.
