The Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (BRA1) is the top level of league style football competition in Brazil. At the end of the 2026 BRA1 season, the BRA1 teams listed below qualify for the following non-league play:
- 2027 Copa Libertadores - Group Stage:
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place 2026 BRA1 teams
- 2027 Copa Libertadores - 2nd Stage:
- 5th place 2026 BRA1 teams
- 2027 Copa Sudamericana - Group Stage:
- 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th place 2026 BRA1 teams
The winner of the 2026 Copa do Brasil, typically a BRA1 team, also receives a berth in the 2027 Copa Libertadores - Group Stage. If a BRA1 has earned the Copa do Brasil berth and has also earned a spot in one of the berths above, then the 6th best 2026 BRA1 team without a 2027 Copa Libertadores berth will receive a berth in the 2027 Copa Sudamericana - Group Stage.

Season Format
Each BRA1 team plays Home-Away matches against the other BRA1 teams for a total of 38 league matches. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) matches won, (2) goal difference, (3) total goals scored, (4) head-to-head results (only between two teams, (5) least red cards received, (6) least yellow cards received, then (7) a drawing.
Playoffs
Not applicable.
Relegation
At the end of each 2026 season, the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th place BRA1 teams will be relegated to the BRA2, and four BRA2 teams will be promoted to the 2027 BRA1.
