The Primeira Liga (POR1), or Liga NOS, is the top football league in Portugal's football system. At the end of the 2022-2023 POR1 season, the POR1 teams listed below qualify for the following non-league play:
- 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League - Group Stage:
- 1st and 2nd place 2022-2023 POR1 teams
- 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League - 3rd Qualifying Round:
- 3rd place 2022-2023 POR1 team
- 2023-2024 UEFA Europa Conference League - 3rd Qualifying Round:
- 4th place 2022-2023 POR1 team
- 2023-2024 UEFA Europa Conference League - 2nd Qualifying Round:
- 5th place 2022-2023 POR1 team
The winner of the 2022-2023 Taça da Portugal (Portuguese Cup), typically an POR1 team, also receives a berth in the Group Stage of the 2023-2024 UEFA Europa League.

Season Format
Each POR1 team plays Home-Away matches with the other 17 POR1 teams for a total of 34 league matches. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) head-to-head points, (2) head-to-head goal difference, (3) head-to-head away goals scored, (4) goal difference, (5) league matches won, (6) goals scored, then (7) a playoff.

Relegation
At the end of the 2022-2023 POR1 season, the 17th and 18th place POR1 teams will be relegated to the POR2, and the best and 2nd best POR2 teams eligible for promotion will be promoted to the 2023-2024 POR1. The 16th place POR1 team will enter into a Promotion/Relegation playoff with the 3rd place POR2 team. The playoff winner plays in the 2023-2024 POR1.
