Each FRA1 team plays Home-Away against the other clubs for a total of 38 league matches. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) goal difference, (2) goals scored, (3) head-to-head goal difference, then (4) Fairplay ranking.
Playoffs
Not applicable.
Relegation
At the end of the 2020-2021 season, the 19th and 20th place FRA1 teams will be relegated directly to the FRA2, and the 1st, and 2nd place FRA2 teams will be promoted to the FRA1. The 18th place team enters into a highest aggregate goals playoff with the winner of the FRA2 Promotion Playoff. The winner plays in the 2021-2022 FRA1, the loser in FRA2.
