Summary
The Allsvenskan (SWE1), or Fotbollsallsvenskan, is the top level of league-style competition in Sweden's football league system. At the end of the 2020 SWE1 season, the SWE1 teams listed below qualify for the following non-league play:
- 2021 - 2022 UEFA Champions League - 1st Qualifying Round:
- 1st place 2020 SWE1 team
- 2021 - 2022 UEFA Europa League - 1st Qualifying Round:
- 2nd and 3rd place 2020 SWE1 teams
The winner of the 2020 Svenska Cupen (Swedish Cup), typically a SWE1 team, also receives a berth in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the 2021 - 2022 UEFA Europa League.

Season Format
Each SWE1 team plays Home-Away matches with the other 15 SWE1 teams for a total of 30 league matches. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) goal difference, (2) goals scored, (3) head-to-head points, (4) head-to-head goal difference, (5) head-to-head away goals scored, then (6) a playoff.
Playoffs
Not applicable.
Relegation
At the end of the 2020 season, the 15th and 16th place SWE1 teams will be relegated to the SWE2, and the 1st and 2nd place SWE2 teams will be promoted to the 2021 SWE1. The 14th place SWE1 team enters into a Home-Away highest aggregate score wins Promotion/Relegation Playoff with the 3rd place SWE2 team. The winner will play in the 2021 SWE1 and the loser will play in the SWE2.
