Summary
The Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras (HON1), is the top level of league style football competition in Honduras. Each season is split into two championships, the Torneo Apertura and the Torneo Clausura. At the end of the 2020-2021 Torneo Clausura, the HON1 teams listed below qualify for the following non-league play:
- 2021 CONCACAF League Round of 16:
- 2020-2021 HON1 Apertura and Clausura champions
- 2021 CONCACAF League Preliminary Round:
- best 2020-2021 HON1 Aggregate Table team not yet qualifed for 2021 CONCACAF League
If the same team wins both the 2020-2021 Torneo Apertura and Torneo Clausura, then the runner-up with the 2nd most 2020-2021 HON1 Aggregate Table points from both torneos is awarded the 2nd 2021-2022 CNCFCL berth.
Aggregate points are determined by combining results from the 2020-2021 Torneo Apertura and 2020-2021 Torneo Clausura into the 2020-2021 HON1 Aggregate Table.

Season Format
The 2020-2021 HON1 season is split into two championships, the Torneo Apertura and the Torneo Clausura, where and the 10 teams are split into 2 groups of five. In each torneo, each HON1 team plays Home/Away matches with each team in their group and one team in the other group, and each team plays once match against the other 4 teams for 14 matches per team. A playoff is held upon the completion of each torneo to determine the torneo champion. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) goal difference, then (2) goals scored.
Playoffs
At the end of each torneo, the 2nd and 3rd place teams in each group advance to a Home/Away highest aggregate goals wins playoff. The playoff winners meet the 1st place teams from each group in the Home/Away highest aggregate goals wins Semifinals. The Semifinals winners play in the Home/Away highest aggregate goals wins Final. There are variations on this model depending on when the 1st place teams win/lose.
Relegation
Upon completion of the 2021-2022 Torneo Clausura, the 10th place 2020-2021 HON1 Aggregate Table team will be relegated to the HON2.
